Cap-Haitien to Host Haiti’s First Tourism Innovation Summit

Haiti Tourism Inc. is again partnering with Tourism Innovation Inc., to host the 2018 edition of Tourism Innovation Summit (TIS), which is a gathering of various stakeholders in the tourism industry to dialogue on the most pertinent creative and technology-driven ideas to help move the industry forward. The international event is scheduled to take place from November 14-17, 2018 in the stunning city of Cap-Haitien.

The global tourism industry continues to grow with recent trends indicating an increase in persons appreciating the necessity to spend some quality time away to relax and revel in the wonder of OUR MOTHER EARTH. Haiti and the Caribbean generally rank among the top destinations for travelers and tourists around the world, which isn’t surprising considering the abundance of amazing attractions in the Region. The Tourism Innovation Summit (TIS) was designed to facilitate an exchange of information and ideas to spur interest, inspire collaboration, and attract strategic investments in the Haitian tourism sector because of its sustainable growth.

The event will feature practical illustrations and examples, serving as a platform for attendees to network and gain valuable insights from the 50 local and global tourism leaders and strategic partners, expected at the function. Participating industry leaders include Uber,, CNN Travel, BBC Travel, Bureau Hospitality Group, Groupe Moural, Fatima Group and the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) to name a few.

The smart and strategy-driven event built through the Haitian curatorial lens shall allow participants to participate in the discussions, gain knowledge from panels moderated by development experts and industry actors, and also discover new initiatives from within Haiti’s tourism sector.

The Tourism Innovation Summit is a 15 year enterprise of Haiti Tourism Inc. and Tourism Innovation Inc., and the 2018 edition of the function is being held in collaboration with other heavyweights in the market working together to improve the narrative of the Haitian tourism industry and product. Some of the partners of this year’s edition are the City Hall of Cap-Haitien, Cap-Haitien Chamber of Commerce, Association Touristique Haiti (ATH), Organisation de Gestion de la Destination Nord Haïti (OGDNH), Ayiti Nexus, DAGMAR, and the U.S. Embassy.
